Douglas Fir Bark Hoop Earrings

These lovely earrings are made from Douglas Fir bark pieces cast in sterling silver. From a distance, they might look like regular hoop earrings, but up close you’ll see just how special the bark texture really is.

Douglas Fir trees are everywhere in the Pacific Northwest. On the coast, they commonly live at least 500 years. They are often planted in reforestation efforts throughout the region—and for good reason, they’re hardy and lovely evergreens. The artist found these sprigs without needles and loved the knobby texture.
