Nikki takes to the shore with this kite in this fabulously textured print that is a capture of her single piece of black construction paper carefully cut and then overlaid over an ink-washed sheet.
This special edition print was made using a photograph of Nikki’s work, capturing both the subtle shadows that form as the paper naturally curves as well as the texture of each paper she uses.
For this series, Nikki painted sheets of lovely handmade Japanese papers with sumi ink as well as washes of water color, from which she then cut her designs with an x-acto knife.
Printed with a white border using an 11-ink color process on enhanced matte paper creating extremely rich blacks with fade-proof inks. Ships flat with a hard backing.
