Multi-layer woodcut. 4 x 6 inches (Image) 8 x 10 inches (Sheet).
This original fine art print was created by hand carving each color layer into different blocks of wood and inking each layer, using oil-based inks. The end product is a delicately layered print on Okawara eastern printmaking paper in a limited edition of 25 prints. This print edition was hand-pulled in Nikki’s studio in Seattle, WA.
Nikki Jabbora - Barber (she/her), a gay Seattle-based printmaker and teaching artist, was born in Bellingham, WA to a Lebanese-German mother and Anglo-Swedish father. Her work focuses on her mixed race identity, centuries of storytelling, and womanhood through symbolic depictions of herself, flora, and fauna.
